Sutton Benger 38 Cricklade 6
Benger returned to winning ways on Saturday with a comfortable victory over Cricklade. The scoring started as early as the first minute when full back Chris Harrison straightened the line in midfield and then sharp interpassing allowed captain and fly half Chris Crome to score in the corner. Crome then posted the conversion with apparent ease. Cricklade came straight back up the park and from a scrum in front of the posts the fly half scored a well taken drop goal. Benger again took the game to the opposition and Dave Haines drove off the back of the ruck and under the posts. Once again Benger then committed an offence in front of their own posts when Matt “Jones” Johns went offside at the ruck and the deficit was reduced by three. Two more scores courtesy of Matt Rea and Harrison left Benger clear at half time. The second half was a scrappy affair for twenty minutes until Johns deputising well at scrum half slipped the ball to Harrison who dummied and with a change of angle went under the posts for his second try. The final score came after good quick passing and Paul Boorman jinked his way under the posts with a final conversion from Crome. Next up Cooper Avon Tyres.
